Champion Justice as a Jewish Value: Protect the Vote

As Jews, we don’t look away. We look out for our neighbors, because we’re safest when everyone’s freedoms are secured. It’s why we act when people need help and why we show up when rights and freedoms are under threat.

This year, that means protecting a freedom we can’t take for granted: the right to vote.

We believe in a country where every voter is welcomed, every ballot is counted, and every voice carries weight. That’s a country worth protecting – a democracy built by ordinary people who choose to show up.

Right now, the linchpin of our democracy — fair and free voting — is under attack. From plans to disrupt the delivery of mail-in ballots, to a bill that would allow only people with current, valid passports or birth certificates to register to vote, to investigating voting rights groups under false pretenses, the freedom to vote is at risk. Jews know what happens when democracy is weakened: the freedom and security of everyone is threatened, including us.

The good news is that democracy is strengthened when we show up for one another. It’s why, for generations, Jewish Americans have fought to keep freedom alive. Service and justice have always been Jewish values. Today, we have the opportunity to live up to these values and build a world where every human and every vote is valued: b’tzelem Elokim (in the image of G-d).

That’s where Jews for Freedom comes in. We’re turning compassion into action — helping at the polls, watching over the count, and making sure every voter is treated fairly, before, during, and after Election Day.

Now we’re asking you to work alongside us. It takes all of us — and every person who joins makes us stronger.

You won’t do it alone. We do this together — trained, supported, side by side.

The only thing you need to be an expert in is your own values. With a shared commitment to protecting democracy and freedom, we have everything we need. Show up with your fellow Jewish Americans — and neighbors of every faith — and protect this election.

Wherever you’re starting from, there’s a place for you here — and a next step you can take. Start where you are:

We’ll keep sharing new ways to take action as additional opportunities emerge, especially around training and getting out the vote.

This work will take all of us. To share ideas or ask questions, email us at info@jewsforfreedom.com. To stay connected and receive future updates, sign up at jewsforfreedom.com.
